Seifer's Card

Seifer's Card is a unique and powerful Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII, representing Seifer Almasy. It is known for its strong values and its utility both in the minigame and for turning into items via the Card Mod ability of the GF Quezacotl.

Seifer's Card Overview

Card Number: 109 (the 109th card in the inventory). Level: 10 (making it one of the highest-level cards). Card Values: It has values of 9 and A (which represents a value of 10 in the minigame). This makes it one of the most powerful cards, especially useful for capturing corner positions. The A value is particularly strong, and it is unbeatable without special rules. Gameplay Use: It is excellent for use in games with Same and Plus rules. Its high stats make it hard to counter unless special rules are in place.

How to Obtain Seifer's Card

Challenge Cid Before the Timber Mission:

After the briefing for the Timber mission, Cid will be in his office on the 3rd floor of Balamb Garden. You can challenge him to a game of Triple Triad here. This is the earliest opportunity to win Seifer's card.

Challenge Cid at Edea's House:

After Balamb Garden crashes into Fisherman's Horizon, Cid will be found at Edea's House. At this point, he plays with Centra region rules, which include Same, Plus, and Random. If you haven’t yet, it’s highly recommended to spread the Open rule to make this challenge easier, as without it, your opponent can manipulate the rules to set up traps.

Rule Manipulation

If you want to keep things simple, Rule Manipulation can be used to avoid complications like Same and Plus, as these rules can give the CPU an advantage, especially since the CPU will always try to use Same/Plus to its benefit. Post-Game (Card Club Quest):

If you've completed the Card Club quest before the point of no return (which is during the battle atop Lunatic Pandora), you'll be able to find all the Level 8–10 cards you might be missing on the Ragnarok during the endgame. This includes Seifer's card, which can also be modified and won back using the Card Mod ability.

Notes: Cid's Availability: After the events in Fisherman’s Horizon, Cid will be available for challenges at Edea's House. However, he will eventually disappear from Balamb Garden as you progress, making these the key windows to win his card. Strategic Use: Seifer's card is one of the most powerful in the game due to its high stats and can be a game-changer in Triple Triad matches. To summarize, the two primary opportunities to win Seifer's card are:

Before the Timber mission, by challenging Cid in Balamb Garden.
After the crash, by challenging him at Edea's House while playing with Centra region rules.
