About Mercury, I was intrigued by your assessment that she's overlooked in fandom out of Japan, since she's the favorite of many of my friends. I asked one friend who's deep in the Sailor Moon fandom about it, and his opinion was also that Mercury is well-beloved and well-represented in fandom, and if he had to pick the one that gets too little he said that would be Pluto. So I don't know! I really don't know. I want to hope he's right though because Mercury does deserve it :)

And well, I really, really think it might just be a Germany thing, I don’t know... But genuinely, I don’t know a single person whose first choice would be Mercury. Not one!

That’s probably also why I’ve always had the impression that she’s more overlooked in the fandom over here. I’d honestly love to see her get a little more love and appreciation, because I really think she deserves it.

And personally, I think she should be like… the second-strongest Sailor Guardian? Or at least very close to it, if we leave Galaxia and the completely ridiculous power levels of the final arc out of the equation. She has SO much potential, and I feel like people often underestimate her because her powers are more defensive/strategic rather than flashy.

I'd kept your site open in a tab for so long, that now that I've finally found the time to come and give it a good visit, I came back to a brand new (and sparkly!!) layout. XD Congratulations on finishing the marathon by the way.

So yeah, tonight I took the time to stroll around Midnight Cloud! In particular I read your Mercury site. And played with the cursor for a normal (very normal) amount of time.

I particularly enjoyed the part about the difficulty of featuring Mercury's powers within the show's format (I hadn't thought about that, but very true), and the comparison with Crystal (we hold similar opinions on Crystal).

I was going to say something more about Mercury but I can't submit a comment longer than 1000 characters so I'll zip it for now and I'll tell you another time. Thank you for the website(s) and well done with everything :)

When I'm done with the revamp of mine, I'll add you as a link.

Christina: Aww Rosy, thank you so much! I’m really glad you finally had the time to properly stroll around Midnight-Cloud! And YES, I am FULLY into cursors XD I absolutely love playing around with them, hihi.

I’m also really happy you enjoyed the Mercury shrine, especially the part about her powers and the comparison with Crystal. And yeah, I really, REALLY hate Crystal XD I have so many problems with how the characters are handled in it, and Mercury in particular, so I definitely had some things to say about it.

Christina, congratulations on being the first person to complete the marathon, and happy belated birthday to Midnight-Cloud. :)

Whenever I visit, I'm always amazed by how creative your designs are, and by how you keep reaching new creative heights with every new layout. I also really appreciate that you've continued to preserve Takeuchi Naoko’s original artwork as part of your designs. It keeps that timeless charm while still giving each new version its own special feeling.

I can't wait to see everyone else's works and look forward to seeing what the rest of the marathon brings.

thank you so much! And I’m really glad you mentioned the Sailor Moon artwork. I’ve been using Takeuchi Naoko’s original artwork a lot lately simply because it feels right for what I’m doing with the site at the moment. I still try to approach it differently with every layout, though, and that’s something I really enjoy.

Cerine is actually a great example of this. She used some of the same artwork for her fanlisting, but her design turned out completely different from mine. I think that’s one of the coolest things about working with the same source material. Everyone can see it differently and create something completely their own from it.

Oh and I’m really looking forward to seeing what everyone else does with their layouts too! ♥

Hello!

I've just been exploring some collectives, and being a fan of Sailor Moon, and especially Venus, I really loved your layout on Midnight Cloud! The fanart of Venus and Kunzite was really beautiful, and I enjoyed reading about your history and the origin of the domain name.

I missed that sparkling time of the internet - I was a bit young, and despite being computer literate from a young age, never thought to search for my favourite things online, and only visited sites other people told me about (like Neopets and Club Penguin). As a result, I'm constantly chasing something lost, but I love finding it in sites like yours. Seeing the care and love and passion for what the internet can still be, if we make it, so thank you for building your place here and sharing it.

I also realized I somehow didn’t explore your domain thoroughly during my visits, because I had no idea you had a Seifer Almasy tribute! I need to fix that immediately.

And your new shrine, Void? I honestly think it has one of your best designs. It’s so spooky, and it fits the game perfectly. I love it so much.

I’m laughing because the Seifer shrine has apparently been hiding in plain sight this entire time. I fully support this discovery though — please enjoy the angst and questionable life choices within.

Also THANK YOU for the kind words about Void. That means so much to me honestly, because I poured a lot of love into making it feel eerie and lonely in the same way the game does. Hearing that the atmosphere landed makes me incredibly happy.

You've jumped to the PHP Guestbook script bandwagon, yay! I know I've left an entry awhile back on the old guestbook, BUT I wanted to leave one for the new one as well. I had to keep my name in here somewhere! 😄 It's honestly so fun seeing your site continue to grow and change over time. It kind of reminds me why I love visiting personal sites like this in the first place. There's always something new to discover.
